Normally you see only the outer and inner faces; the middle layer appears for the first time when one of them wears through. The idea grew out of the patches we so often use in mending — a fabric made on the premise of repair. With wool in the weft and a cushion of air held between the layers, it is also thoroughly warm. By choosing non-mulesed raw materials, we reduce the burden on the sheep. (Mulesing is the practice of cutting away part of the skin and flesh around a sheep's hindquarters without anaesthetic, to prevent parasites from lodging in the folds of the skin.)\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe design uses a straight, rectilinear pattern for a flat, planar construction. A gentle shoulder slope lets it settle naturally on many body types, and the relaxed silhouette is mindful of the space between cloth and body.
