CT-46
Tanzen Court 2
This is a padded coat based on the "Tanzen" kimono, a type of kimono worn to protect against the cold. The outer fabric is made of high-density fabric from Hamamatsu, with a cotton warp and wool weft. The lining is also made of high-density cotton fabric, and the cotton sandwiched inside creates a layer of air, making it warm enough to withstand the middle of winter.
Unlike Western clothing, this garment does not go through a pattern-making process, but is made just by following the measurements, just like Japanese clothing, which is made up of mostly straight lines. The cuffs, collar, hem, and lining are all hand-sewn. A separate waist cord is included. A shorter length version, CT-45, is also available.
