Organic Cotton Gabardine Coat

A high-density twill fabric spun from organic brown and green cotton grown in the United States. Some of the sizing needed for weaving is natural starch, and the cloth is woven as densely as possible, giving it a firm, resilient hand. Flecks of brown and green cotton and cotton husks appear on the surface, for a natural look. The undyed "brown cotton" retains the colour of the raw cotton itself.

Almost every part apart from the hood follows a straight-line pattern, giving a very flat construction that, like a kimono, sits naturally on many body types. The placket and hem, where a separate piece is normally sewn on, are deliberately cut in a single piece for a simple design. When the hood is not worn, it folds flat against the body. The undyed "brown cotton" is finished with contrasting white stitching.

Handling Instructions

*There are knots and unevenness in the threads that are unique to natural materials. This is because we place importance on texture and use raw materials with uneven fibre lengths, so please consider this as part of the look. Please be careful not to pull on the knots in the threads too hard, as this may cause the threads to break and create holes in the fabric. *The undyed "brown" is the natural colour of the cotton itself. Flecks and husks of brown or green cotton may appear on the surface of the fabric; please consider this as the character of a natural material. (Brown) *Enjoy the unevenness of the bamboo charcoal dye and the changes that occur over time. To avoid colour transfer, avoid wearing with white items and wash separately when first wearing. Colour transfer will subside with use. Because this is a garment-dyed item, the colour and size may vary slightly from item to item. (Light Charcoal) *Dyed with Kishu Binchotan charcoal and pigments, there is a natural unevenness. To avoid colour transfer, avoid combining with light-coloured items and always wash separately.
