kala cotton long haori
For details on kala cotton, produced by KHAMIR, an NGO in Kutch, India, please click here . The raw cotton of kala cotton is the original Helbacheum variety that has not been bred, and it is characterized by its very low environmental impact as it does not require pesticides and requires only a small amount of water. The raw cotton with short fiber length is spun by local machines and woven by artisans in local villages. Although it is a thick fabric made with two strands, it can be worn all year round. The edge of the fabric is used for the collar edge that is cut from the body and is all sewn with a mellow finish of cotton thread, making it a light tailoring. The look changes dramatically when the sleeves are rolled up, and it can also be worn casually with the collar unbuttoned. There are pockets on both sides and a separate waist string.
*Because we use hand-woven fabric, there are individual differences in size and texture. Please consider the weaving habits, knots in the thread, and pilling as part of the expression. As it is weaker than machine-woven fabric, please avoid excessive strain. We are also available to answer any questions you may have about care.
