Khadi Haori (Dark Plant Dyed)
The khadi used is hand-spun and hand-woven in West Bengal, India. Please refer to the link for the outer fabric spinning and the blog of CALICO , the supplier, for details on hand-spinning. The unevenness created by hand-spinning and hand-weaving relatively short-fiber desi cotton gives it a texture like another skin, and it is beautiful even when lit through. The occasional random border is created by the fine changes in the yarn lot used by handwork, and is also one of the characteristics. The edge of the fabric is used for the collar edge, which is cut from the body, and all the sewing is done with a mellow finish of cotton thread, making it a light tailoring. The look changes dramatically when the sleeves are rolled up, and it can also be worn casually with the collar unbuttoned. There are pockets on both sides and a separate waist string. This is a special order item from Walls and Bridges.
*Because we use hand-woven fabric, there are individual differences in size and texture. Please consider the weaving habits, knots in the thread, and pilling as part of the expression. As it is weaker than machine-woven fabric, please avoid excessive strain. We are also available to answer any questions you may have about care.
*Dyed with natural indigo. The color will become lighter with repeated use. Since there is a possibility of color transfer, please refrain from using it with light-colored items at first, wash it with a neutral detergent, and dry it in the shade. Since it is product dyed, the color and size of each item will vary slightly.
