Long hemp haori (red iron oxide dye)
100% hemp threads are used for the warp and weft. Hemp is a strong fiber, but as it ages it gradually becomes more comfortable against the skin, and you can enjoy the change in texture from hemp to cotton-like. The cool feel that is characteristic of hemp persists even after repeated washing, making it comfortable to wear even in the middle of summer. Please refer to the article by Yoshida Shinichiro, Director of the Modern Linen Research Institute, for the history of hemp cloth, and to Boeken's article for details on the differences between hemp, ramie, and flax.
The edge of the collar is cut from the body and finished with a cotton scalloped edge for a light look. The sleeves can be rolled up to change the look, or you can wear it casually with the collar unbuttoned. There are pockets on both sides and a separate waist string. This is a special order from Fukugido.
*Natural pigments are fixed with natural rubber, so there is a natural unevenness. To avoid color transfer, avoid combining with light colors and be sure to wash it separately from other items the first 1-2 times. Since it is product dyed, the color and size of each item may vary slightly.
