Nashi Silk Long Haori
Nasi is a part of the silk that Indian wild silkworms, or tasar silkworms, make when they hang from a tree. This original fabric is made by weaving a plain weave with threads spun from nasi at the only silk spun factory in Japan in Shiga, and unrefined fine raw silk as the warp. The off-white color is undyed. Although it is not used here, Maki Textile Studio's article on the hand-spun nasi thread in India is detailed, so please refer to it. Both the nasi weft thread and the raw silk warp thread are stronger than normal glossy silk thread, and the fabric has a hard, crisp texture that changes to a soft denim-like texture with repeated daily wear. Nasi thread is as strong as wool, so it has resilience and does not wear out even when used repeatedly. All ends are left uncut, and all sewing is done with cotton thread smeared, making it a light fabric. The look can be changed dramatically by rolling up the sleeves, or worn casually with the collar unbuttoned. It comes with pockets on both sides and a separate waist string.
*Dyed in dark colors. To avoid color transfer, please avoid mixing with light colors. To prevent color fading, use a dry-cleaning detergent and dry in the shade. Due to post-production processing, the color and size of each item may vary slightly. (Dark navy/black)
