SN Charuca Kala Cotton Blouson (Plant-dyed)
Kala cotton is produced by KHAMIR, an NGO in Kutch, India. For details, please see here . The raw cotton of kala cotton is the original Helbacheum species that has not been bred, and it is characterized by its very low environmental impact because it does not require pesticides and only requires a small amount of water. SN stands for single needle, and is the name of a portable spinning machine for home use invented by Gandhi. Click here to see how the yarn is spun. Currently, amvirka , which is more productive than single needle, is mainstream, but the yarn is spun little by little by the women of the local village and woven by hand. The random borders that sometimes appear are created by changes in the fine yarn lots used in handmade work, and this is also one of the characteristics. Although it is proposed as a blouson item, the pattern is made based on functionality, eliminating waste and making full use of straight lines. The sleeves are functional sleeves, making it easy to move around, and the kimono-like collar combines breathability and versatility when matching with a stole. The lining is made of the same SN Charkha cotton fabric as the outer fabric, so the garment is airy and feels good against the skin, and is lightweight. It has a front pocket.
*Because we use hand-woven fabric, there are individual differences in size and texture. Please consider the weaving habits, knots in the thread, and pilling as part of the expression. As it is weaker than machine-woven fabric, please avoid excessive strain. We are also available to answer any questions you may have about care.
*Dyed with dyes extracted from plants and insects, there is a natural unevenness. As there is a possibility of color transfer, avoid using it with light-colored items at first, wash with a neutral detergent, and dry in the shade. As it is product dyed, the color and size of each item may vary slightly. (Walnut)
*Dyed with natural indigo. The color will become lighter with repeated use. As there is a possibility of color transfer, avoid using with light-colored items at first, wash with neutral detergent, and dry in the shade. As this is product dyed, the color and size of each item will vary slightly. (Indigo, Indigo x Walnut)
