Long hemp haori (red iron oxide dye) High density
100% hemp thread is used for the warp and weft. It is a finer count than regular hemp fabric, so it has a denser weave and is a higher quality fabric. Hemp is a strong fiber, but it gradually becomes more comfortable against the skin over time, and you can enjoy the change in texture from hemp to cotton-like. The cool feel that is characteristic of hemp remains even after repeated washing, making it comfortable to wear even in the middle of summer. For more information on the history of hemp cloth, please see the article by Shinichiro Yoshida, director of the Modern Linen Research Institute , and for more information on the differences between hemp, ramie, and flax, please see the article by Boeken .
The collar, hem, cuffs and basic stitching are finished with a scalloped edge, which is a continuation of the body, for a light look. The look changes dramatically when you roll up the sleeves, and you can also wear it casually with the collar unbuttoned. There are pockets on both sides and a separate waist string.
*There are knots and unevenness in the threads that are unique to natural materials. This is because we place importance on texture and use raw materials with uneven fiber lengths, so please consider this as part of the look. Please be careful not to pull on the knots in the threads too hard, as this may cause the threads to break and create holes in the fabric.
*Natural pigments are fixed with natural rubber, so there is a natural unevenness. To avoid color transfer, avoid combining with light colors and be sure to wash it separately from other items the first 1-2 times. Since it is product dyed, the color and size of each item may vary slightly.
