Hemp short haori high density (mud dyed)
100% hemp thread is used for the warp and weft. It is a finer count than regular hemp fabric, so it has a denser weave and is a higher quality fabric. Hemp is a strong fiber, but it gradually becomes more comfortable against the skin over time, and you can enjoy the change in texture from hemp to cotton-like. The cool feel that is characteristic of hemp remains even after repeated washing, making it comfortable to wear even in the middle of summer. For more information on the history of hemp cloth, please see the article by Shinichiro Yoshida, director of the Modern Linen Research Institute , and for more information on the differences between hemp, ramie, and flax, please see the article by Boeken .
The fabric's grain is passed through the edge of the collar, making the body slightly biased, and the pattern fits the body well. The collar can be stood up or folded down, and the sleeves can be folded to the desired length. All stitching is done with a scalloped finish using cotton thread, making for a light and airy look. The look changes dramatically when the sleeves are rolled up, and the collar can also be worn loosely.
*There are knots and unevenness in the threads that are unique to natural materials. This is because we place importance on texture and use raw materials with uneven fiber lengths, so please consider this as part of the look. Please be careful not to pull on the knots in the threads too hard, as this may cause the threads to break and create holes in the fabric.
*Dyed with sharinbai and mordanted with mud. Avoid using with light-colored items, wash alone with neutral detergent and dry in the shade. Threads, stiffness, and mud particles that come out during washing will gradually settle. Because this is a product dye, the color and size of each item may vary slightly.
