Soft hemp jacket
This is an original fabric with indigo and ink dyes coated on the front and back using roller dyeing. Roller dyeing is a method that uses less water and reduces the discharge of dye wastewater. By applying pressure to the fabric while fixing the dye, a unique luster is created. The base fabric is soft yet retains the characteristic firmness of hemp. It is characterized by having the softness of hemp cloth that has been worn for a long time from the beginning. For more information on the history of hemp cloth, please refer to the article by Shinichiro Yoshida, director of the Modern Hemp Cloth Research Institute, and for the differences between hemp, ramie, and flax, please refer to the article by Boken.
This is a relaxed-fit jacket designed for wear from spring through summer and into autumn._ It features a base fabric with a different colored coating applied to both the front and back, allowing the color of the reverse side to peek through when the jacket is folded._ The raw, unfinished edges at the front and hem are designed to highlight the complex dyeing structure of the fabric, revealing the layers of yarn and dye more directly._ Zigzag stitching is used at the front and hem to prevent fraying.
