OC silk chambray wrap jacket
This original chambray fabric is woven in the Boshu region using Indian organic cotton for the warp and silk spun silk thread for the weft. Silk spun silk thread is made by re-spinning the short fibres that are generated during the spinning of silk spun yarn, and it has a subtle lustre and the suppleness unique to silk. Chambray refers to a plain weave structure in which the colour of the warp and weft threads is changed to create a deep colour tone on the surface. The colour of the warp and weft threads is changed in all colours, resulting in a finish where the depth and shading of the colour can be felt depending on the incidence of light and movement. It is woven slowly on a rapier loom, which is a shuttle loom that has been uniquely modified, without putting stress on the yarn, and a tumbler finish is applied in the final process. It is a soft fabric that retains the soft texture of cotton and silk while maintaining a firm density.
This is a haori jacket with a silhouette that resembles wearing a piece of cloth, featuring a very wide body width. The design emphasises flat planes, and the naturally standing back collar gives it the impression of a kimono. The relaxed fit between the body and the fabric allows it to be worn regardless of body type or what is worn underneath. It uses a zipper for the front opening, allowing for a significant change in appearance depending on whether it's open or closed. When the zipper is fully opened, the left and right sides completely separate. Pockets are included with functionality as an everyday garment in mind.
