OC silk chambray haori (traditional Japanese kimono jacket)
This original chambray fabric is woven in the Boshu region using Indian organic cotton for the warp and silk spun silk thread for the weft. Silk spun silk thread is made by re-spinning the short fibers that are generated during the spinning of silk spun yarn, and it has a subtle luster and the suppleness unique to silk. Chambray refers to a plain weave structure in which the color of the warp and weft threads is changed to create a deep color tone on the surface. The color of the warp and weft threads is changed in all colors, resulting in a finish where the depth and shading of the color can be felt depending on the angle of light and movement. It is woven slowly on a rapier loom, which is a shuttle loom that has been uniquely modified, without putting stress on the yarn, and a tumbler finish is applied in the final step. It is a soft fabric that retains the soft texture of cotton and silk while maintaining a firm density.
This is a loose-fitting kimono-style garment designed with a generous body width and length._ By partially attaching the front facing to the main body, the natural texture of the fabric is preserved, resulting in a soft and lightweight feel. The gently rising collar, while typically a structure that would rub directly against the neck, is made with bias binding, making it comfortable against the skin and wrinkle-resistant. The front pockets are made with two layers of fabric, with the seams hidden and finished with a single stitch for a clean look.
