Hemp Haori High Density (Red ochre dye)
100% hemp thread is used for the warp and weft. As it is a finer count than normal hemp fabric, it has a denser weave and is of higher quality. Hemp is a strong fiber, but as it ages it gradually becomes more comfortable against the skin, and you can enjoy the change in texture from hemp to cotton. The cool feel that is characteristic of hemp continues even after repeated washing, making it comfortable to wear even in the middle of summer. For the history of hemp cloth, see the article by Shinichiro Yoshida, Director of the Modern Linen Research Institute , and for the differences between hemp, ramie, and flax, see Boken's article .
This big-silhouette jacket features a wide collar that continues from the body and a reversible design. The wide AH gives this jacket a strong windbreaker-like element. The front seam can be made deep, so if you sew it tightly and tie the string, it will have considerable windproof performance. This design is not rooted in a specific ethnic design, but if you sew it deep and tighten the waist string, it will give the impression of a Bhutanese go or a Mongolian deel. It has pockets on both sides and a separate waist string.
