Linen Hemp Jacquard Haori (plant dyed)

This original jacquard fabric is woven in the Enshu region, designed to evoke a resonant feel both visually and to the touch. It uses linen for the warp and hemp for the weft. The pattern incorporates 14 different textures, allowing you to enjoy a variety of sensations when it touches your skin. Another feature is the soft texture created by weaving on a low-speed jacquard loom.

This haori jacket features a distinctive design that allows the collar shape and length to change by wearing it upside down. The body and collar are cut from a single piece of fabric, and the raw edges and seam allowances are left unfinished, giving the impression of wearing the fabric's natural texture and characteristics directly. Being reversible, turning it inside out hides the seam allowances, resulting in a more minimalist look.

Handling Instructions

*There are knots and unevenness in the threads that are unique to natural materials. This is because we place importance on texture and use raw materials with uneven fibre lengths, so please consider this as part of the look. Please be careful not to pull on the knots in the threads too hard, as this may cause the threads to break and create holes in the fabric. *Please enjoy the unevenness and the way plant dyeing changes over time. To prevent colour transfer from friction, avoid using it with light colours, wash it separately with a neutral detergent and dry it in the shade. Perspiration and light will cause discolouration, so please handle with care. As it is garment-dyed, the colour and size differ from item to item. (Walnut) *Dyed with natural indigo. The colour will become lighter with repeated use. As there is a possibility of colour transfer, avoid using with light-coloured items at first, wash with a neutral detergent, and dry in the shade. Each item has a slightly different colour and size. (Natural Indigo, Natural Indigo & Walnut) *Please enjoy the ageing that is characteristic of indigo and persimmon-tannin dyeing. As friction causes colour transfer, please avoid using it with light colours. Perspiration and sunlight will cause discolouration, so please take care in storage and handling. As it is garment-dyed, the colour and size vary slightly from item to item. (Indigo & Persimmon Tannin)
