Hemp Wool Linen Jacket
An original fabric with a No. 10 woollen-count hemp dyed black in the warp and a No. 14 woollen-count blend of Shetland wool and linen in the weft. The cloth is a satin weave used as a back-satin, with the reverse serving as the face, so much of the Shetland-wool-and-linen weft shows on the outside. Brushing is applied to the face only, giving a fabric that combines warmth with strength.
A box-silhouette jacket with a comfortable amount of ease through the body and arms. Turning the brushed face inward adds warmth. Together with a practical pocket layout, a yoke-sleeve pattern gives room to move at the arms, with function and durability in mind. It uses no metal parts; the buttons are made of buffalo horn.
