Silk Noil Cardigan
This cardigan uses silk noil, spun from the short fibres (silk noil) that cannot be used in reeling silk, such as those from waste cocoons, and is knitted throughout in plain stitch apart from the ribbing. Silk is excellent at absorbing and releasing moisture and at retaining warmth; it is a protein fibre bound from amino acids close in composition to human skin, so it is comfortable to wear.
A crew-neck cardigan, with the dimensions adjusted for a slightly close fit. The buttons are nut buttons, which have a low environmental impact. To counter silk's tendency to lose shape, elastic yarn is worked throughout to give it kickback.

Please be careful not to pull on the knots in the threads too hard, as this may cause the threads to break and create holes in the fabric.
