MITTAN 1
This is MITTAN's first book to focus on repair and re-dyeing. Through examples from MITTAN, it shows the possibilities for the continued use of clothing. We hope it will serve as an opportunity to reconsider the relationship between people and clothing.
The book features a unique binding in which most of the pages are folded, and every time a reader opens a page, a series of movements that incorporate air suggests how MITTAN's flat clothing transforms into a three-dimensional object as the body is placed inside. The cover uses paper mixed with charcoal from Moso bamboo harvested from abandoned bamboo forests, and the inside is also entirely made of recycled paper. All text is written in both Japanese and English.
