Ramie silk dress (red iron oxide dye)
The warp thread is made of 100% ramie yarn, and the weft thread is made of a blend of ramie and silk, resulting in a very lightweight and thin fabric. The smooth texture of ramie and the luster of silk combine to create a simple yet impressive fabric. Both the warp and weft threads are made of very thin 160-count yarn, but this thin yarn is usually difficult to spin, so the fabric is woven while being reinforced with water-soluble yarn. After weaving, the fabric is washed in hot water, and the reinforced parts are removed at the same time, resulting in a fabric that is both light and thin.
There are no slopes in the shoulders or curves in the armholes, and the design is very flat, with a lot of space between the body and the fabric, giving a sense of freedom as if you are not wearing it at all. The pattern can be worn either front or back, but since the front center part is asymmetrical, the impression changes greatly depending on whether the open placket is in the front or back. The pockets are flat, so they do not affect the body. The buttons are shell buttons.
