Linen and cotton long
The fabric is made of high-density cotton warp and hemp weft, woven on an old-fashioned shuttle loom . Shuttle looms are slower than modern looms, but they are able to weave each weave tightly. This gives the fabric a unique firmness that doesn't cling to the skin, is easy to roll up, and is comfortable to wear even in midsummer.
Based on the shape of monpe and tatsuke, the silhouette gradually tapers towards the hem. Gathering the hem into tucks before rolling it up gives an even stronger taper. The crotch, inner side, and outer side are all folded and sewn with great care to increase strength. The waist string is an original string made in Uji, Kyoto, and Indian hand block is used for the lining of the pockets other than the light-coloured ones.
