Non-Mulesed Wool Heavy Twill Pants
This original high-density twill is woven in the Bishu region from non-mulesed wool, using a different number of plied yarns for the warp and weft. The warp is a three-ply yarn and the weft a two-ply yarn, which brings out the twill weave clearly and gives the cloth a firm, substantial body. After dyeing, a clear finish is applied so the fabric's own clean expression and drape come through. By choosing non-mulesed raw materials, we reduce the burden on the sheep. (Mulesing is the practice of cutting away part of the skin and flesh around a sheep's hindquarters without anaesthetic, to prevent parasites from lodging in the folds of the skin.)
Long, straight-silhouette pants that make the most of the fabric's drape. The overall design keeps stitching to a minimum — the hem, for instance, is finished with a blind stitch — while an elasticated waist adds convenience. Around the centre front the elastic is left out so the fabric lies flat, keeping a clean line even when the top is tucked in. The back pocket is a single-welt pocket.
