Linen Ramie Big Shorts

Two kinds of bast fibre, linen (flax) and ramie, are spun domestically into a blended yarn used for both warp and weft, giving the cloth crispness and a moderate weight. Blending with ramie also eases the slackness characteristic of linen. With repeated wear it takes on the feel of well-used vintage cloth. These are voluminous, knee-length shorts with two deep tucks at the front. The fabric has real weight, so belt loops are included to support it, but with an elastic waist and an inner organic-cotton drawstring they can also be worn without a belt. Large patch pockets at the back add storage, and the wide topstitching gives them a different character from our other linen-ramie pieces.

Handling Instructions

*There are knots and unevenness in the threads that are unique to natural materials. This is because we place importance on texture and use raw materials with uneven fibre lengths, so please consider this as part of the look. Please be careful not to pull on the knots in the threads too hard, as this may cause the threads to break and create holes in the fabric. *Due to the washing process after sewing, the colour and size may vary slightly from item to item. To avoid colour transfer, avoid wearing with white items and wash separately when first wearing. Color transfer will subside with use. Because this is a garment-dyed item, the colour and size may vary slightly from item to item. (Light charcoal) *Dyed with Kishu Binchotan charcoal and pigments, there is a natural unevenness. To avoid colour transfer, avoid combining with light-coloured items and always wash separately. Color transfer will subside with use.
