The raw cotton of kala cotton is the original Helbacheum species that has not been bred, and it is characterized by its very low environmental impact as it does not require pesticides and requires only a small amount of water. The raw cotton with short fiber length is spun by local machines and woven by artisans in local villages. The yarn is strongly twisted, so it has a natural texture = elasticity, and it naturally fits the body. The random borders that occur occasionally are created by changes in the fine yarn lots used in handmade work, and are also one of the characteristics. The pattern is based on monpe and tatsuke.
