Cashmere wadding shawl
This is an original fabric produced in Koto, Shiga, with linen used for the warp and cashmere used for the weft. The cashmere weft is produced in Senshu, Osaka, where regular cashmere yarn is twisted with cashmere in a wavy form. The inclusion of cashmere in a wavy form gives the fabric a very soft and voluminous texture. Cashmere alone would make the fabric too soft, so the linen warp supports the cashmere like a framework, but only the long-haired cashmere touches the skin, making it comfortable against the skin. It is so soft that even if pilling occurs, it falls off quickly, and the unevenness of the yarn itself makes it unnoticeable.
