Lao cotton dishcloth
SC-17 Lao Cotton Dishcloth Cotton grown by ethnic minorities in villages in northern Laos is hand-spun on a single spinning wheel, and the cotton yarn is dyed with vegetable dyes and hand-woven on a wooden loom about 80 cm wide. For details, please visit the website of our supplier, shoku . The raw cotton fiber length is short, and the uneven texture created by hand-spinning and hand-weaving contains plenty of air, which, combined with the vegetable-dyed colors, naturally blends with the skin. It is very rare in modern times for the process from raw materials to fabric to be completed within a small community. Even with the same color number, the thickness of the thread, the weaving density, and the pitch of the pattern will vary depending on the season.
I stocked the scraps that were generated when cutting other products using the above fabric, and recut them to fit the size of the scraps, then sewed them again as dishcloths. There will be individual differences in the position of the patchwork, the grain of the fabric, and the front and back.
*Because we use hand-woven fabric, there are individual differences in size and texture. Please consider the weaving habits, knots in the thread, and pilling as part of the expression. As it is weaker than machine-woven fabric, please avoid excessive strain. We are also available to answer any questions you may have about care.
*Dyed with natural indigo. The color will become lighter with repeated use. Since there is a possibility of color transfer, please refrain from using it with light-colored items at first, wash it with a neutral detergent, and dry it in the shade. Since it is product dyed, the color and size of each item will vary slightly.
