SN Charkha Kala Cotton Towel

The raw cotton used for kala cotton is the original Helbacheum species that has not been bred, and it is characterized by its very low environmental impact as it does not require pesticides and requires only a small amount of water. SN stands for single needle, and is the name of a portable spinning machine for home use invented by Gandhi. Click here to see how the yarn is spun. While the amvirka spinning machine , which is more productive than the single needle spinning machine, is currently mainstream, the yarn is spun little by little by the women of the local villages and woven by hand. The random borders that sometimes appear are created by changes in the fine yarn lots used in handmade work, and are also one of the characteristics. The fabric is absorbent, so the tenugui can be used for various purposes such as towels, tenugui, and turbans.
