Sakiori Blanket
We ordered a MITTAN-exclusive color from sashiori fabric made by iroiro zero waste in Jaipur, India. Black leftover fabric that would have been thrown away at factories is used as the weft thread, and by alternating it with regular cotton thread, a large ridged texture is expressed. In addition, by weaving the sashiori fabric vertically, a richer uneven texture is created and it feels good against the skin. The design is a simple blanket that makes use of the fabric edges (fabric edges) that are unique to hand weaving. It is thick enough to be used as a throw or a rug.
*As leftover fabric is reused, there will be large individual differences in color. Also, please note that weaving steps and slight weaving errors are characteristics of the fabric.
*Because we use hand-woven fabric, there are individual differences in size and texture. Please consider the weaving habits, knots in the thread, and pilling as part of the expression. As it is weaker than machine-woven fabric, please avoid excessive strain. We are also available to answer any questions you may have about care.
