Lao hand-woven silk dishcloth
SC-64 Lao Hand-woven Silk DishclothThis fabric was planned by HPE (Handicraft Promotion Enterprise), organized by Yukiko Tani in Luang Namtha in northern Laos. The local Black Thai ethnic minority raised the original silkworms, extracted the thread using a primitive method called "zuri-dashi", twisted the thread, dyed it with natural dyes, and sewed it by hand. MITTAN used to use this fabric to make products. They stock the scraps that are generated when cutting products, and cut them again to fit the size of the scraps and sew them into dishcloths. There are individual differences in the position of the patchwork, the grain of the fabric, and the front and back.
