SC-73
Blanket (Large)
An original fabric in which merino wool from Uruguay is used for the weft and cotton grown in the USA and spun in China is used for the warp, with a kasuri-like pattern expressed across the twill face and back. Just as denim differs in colour on its face and back, the pattern is created by switching between areas where more warp shows and areas where more weft shows. Although fine cotton yarn is used for the warp, what actually touches the skin is wool as fine as cashmere, so it is very soft and places almost no burden on the skin. Because the cotton warp provides support, an even softer weave is possible, and warmth is retained by allowing plenty of air into both the weft itself and the weave. Unlike ordinary industrial products, each piece is fulled individually after weaving, cutting, and sewing, so each one develops a different character.
Large enough to be draped over the shoulders like a coat. It can also be used as a generous stole or lap blanket, or even as bedding.
