Soft hemp long shirt 2
The fabric is similar in thickness to standard hemp fabric, but the weave density is a little tighter, and after weaving, the fabric is processed at a finishing factory in Shiga, softening the hemp-specific stiffness in advance. It is characterized by having the softness that regular plain weave hemp gets from long-term wear from the start. For more information on the history of hemp cloth, see the article by Shinichiro Yoshida, director of the Modern Linen Research Institute, and for more information on the differences between hemp, ramie, and flax, see Boken's article.
The design is roomy and can be worn as both a dress and a haori. The front part is folded over like origami, and all buttons except for the top button are hidden, giving it a minimalist impression. The collar has the appearance of a stand-up collar, but is shaped to follow the straight neckline of a kimono. The buttons are made of shells. There are pockets on both sides.
