Khadi Kurta Shirt (red iron oxide dye)
The khadi used is hand-spun and hand-woven in West Bengal, India. Please refer to the link to the outer fabric spinning section and the blog of CALICO , the supplier, for details on hand-spinning. The unevenness created by hand-spinning and hand-weaving relatively short-fiber desi cotton gives it a texture like another skin, and it is beautiful even when lit through. The random borders that can be seen from time to time are created by changing the fine yarn lots used by hand, and are also one of the features. This item is based on the kurta, a traditional Indian national costume, and is designed to give it a relaxed fit. The design has been stripped down as much as possible, and patterns have been made with an emphasis on functionality. Specifically, the sleeve cap is gusseted and the bottom of the sleeve is set higher to ensure movement around the arms. In addition, the yoke part on the back is gusseted instead of tucked or gathered to allow for ease of movement in the back. Shell buttons are used for the buttons.
*Because we use hand-woven fabric, there are individual differences in size and texture. Please consider the weaving habits, knots in the thread, and pilling as part of the expression. As it is weaker than machine-woven fabric, please avoid excessive strain. We are also available to answer any questions you may have about care.
*Natural pigments are fixed with natural rubber, so there is a natural unevenness. To avoid color transfer, avoid combining with light colors and be sure to wash it separately from other items the first 1-2 times. Since it is product dyed, the color and size of each item may vary slightly.
