OG Multicolor Slub Hoodie
The warp and weft threads are made of organic cotton slub yarn. While slub yarn made by regular machine spinning has a uniform texture, this yarn is hand-woven with uneven thickness differences, resulting in a unique finish with an extremely uneven texture of up to three times the thickness. The fabric is woven in Enshu using a rapier loom, a uniquely modified shuttle loom, which is woven slowly to avoid putting stress on the thin parts of the slub yarn. This makes the most of the characteristics of the yarn and results in a fabric with a soft texture close to that of hand-woven fabric.
This pullover is based on the djellaba, a traditional North African outer robe. The djellaba is a loose, hooded robe worn widely across North Africa. This design draws on that character: a wide silhouette leaves space between body and cloth for a comfortable fit on many body types. The hood also doubles as sun protection, and the light, easy-to-throw-on pullover has a relaxed feel.
