SH-44C Short Sleeve Khadi Long Shirt (Plant Dyed) This shirt uses Khadi made in West Bengal, India, where both the warp and weft are hand-spun and hand-woven. The unevenness created by hand-spinning and hand-weaving relatively short-fiber Desi Cotton gives the shirt a texture like a second skin, and is beautiful even when light is shined through it. The occasional random borders are created by the fine changes in the yarn lots used in the handwork, and are also one of the shirt's characteristics. The entire hand-woven khadi fabric is cut using the selvedge from edge to edge, and then folded and sewn like origami, leaving almost no leftover fabric. The fabric has a very flat structure, and like a kimono, it naturally adapts to the body shape of many people. The fabric also softens with wear, and cotton thread is used for sewing, making it comfortable to wear even against bare skin. The selvedge of the fabric is used on the hem of the placket to convey the texture of the hand-woven fabric, and thick freshwater pearl buttons are hand-sewn on.
