SH-54MMkala cotton pullover small (indigo dyed at Kumiko Mori's studio)For more information on kala cotton, produced by KHAMIR, an NGO in Kutch, India, please click here . The raw cotton used for kala cotton is the original Helbaceum variety that has not been bred, and is characterized by its very low environmental impact as it does not require pesticides and requires only a small amount of water. The short-fiber raw cotton is spun on a local machine and woven by artisans in local villages. The yarn is strongly twisted, giving it a natural texture = elasticity, so it naturally fits the body. The occasional random borders are created by changes in the fine yarn lots used in the handmade process, and are also one of the characteristics.
The uneven texture of the kala cotton yarn and the natural texture make it comfortable against the skin, and it doesn't stick to your skin even when you sweat, so you can wear it comfortably even in the summer. The split raglan sleeves and short length ensure a moderate amount of movement, and the collar stands up nicely even after repeated washing, giving it a more neat impression than a T-shirt. This item is dyed at the indigo dyeing studio of Kumiko Mori in Tokushima.
*Because we use hand-woven fabric, there are individual differences in size and texture. Please consider the weaving habits, knots in the thread, and pilling as part of the expression. As it is weaker than machine-woven fabric, please avoid excessive strain. We are also available to answer any questions you may have about care.
*Dyed with natural indigo. The color will become lighter with repeated use. Since there is a possibility of color transfer, please refrain from using it with light-colored items at first, wash it with a neutral detergent, and dry it in the shade. Since it is product dyed, the color and size of each item will vary slightly.
