Khadi shirt (red iron oxide dye) (reinforced)
SH-61BH Khadi Shirt (Bengara Dyed) (Reinforced) This shirt uses Khadi made in West Bengal, India, where both the warp and weft are hand-spun and hand-woven. For more information on hand-spinning, please refer to the link to the outer fabric spinning section and the blog of our supplier, CALICO . The unevenness created by hand-spinning and hand-weaving relatively short-fiber Desi Cotton gives it a texture like another skin, and it is beautiful even when lit through. The occasional random borders are created by the change in the fine thread lot by handwork, and are also one of the characteristics. The shirt is proposed as a Western clothing that constitutes modern ethnic clothing. The construction follows the rules of Western clothing, but the design has been stripped away as much as possible, and the pattern is based on functionality. Specifically, the sleeve cap is tucked in and the bottom of the sleeve is set higher to ensure movement around the arms, and the yoke on the back is tucked in instead of tucked or gathered to ensure movement in the back. Also, instead of using the adhesive interlining normally used in shirts, the outer fabric is unstitched, and all the sewing thread is cotton, resulting in a soft finish that makes it comfortable to wear even against bare skin. The placket uses fabric selvedge to convey the texture of hand weaving, and the buttons are made of freshwater shell. The reinforcement stitching has been applied with fine machine stitches in a total of 10 places to reinforce any areas that may have become frayed over time. (A different shell is used than in SH-03.)
*Because we use hand-woven fabric, there are individual differences in size and texture. Please consider the weaving habits, knots in the thread, and pilling as part of the expression. As it is weaker than machine-woven fabric, please avoid excessive strain. We are also available to answer any questions you may have about care.
*Natural pigments are fixed with natural rubber, so there is a natural unevenness. To avoid color transfer, avoid combining with light colors and be sure to wash it separately from other items the first 1-2 times. Since it is product dyed, the color and size of each item may vary slightly.
