SH-70DDH Khadi Shirt 2 (Dark Plant Dyed) (Reinforced) This shirt uses Khadi made in West Bengal, India, where both the warp and weft are hand-spun and hand-woven. The unevenness created by hand-spinning and hand-weaving relatively short-fiber Desi Cotton gives the shirt a texture like a second skin, and is beautiful even when light shines through it. The occasional random borders are created by the fine changes in the yarn lots used in the handwork, and are also one of the shirt's characteristics. The shirt is proposed as a piece of Western clothing that can be used as part of modern ethnic clothing. While the construction follows the rules of Western clothing, the design has been stripped away as much as possible, and the pattern is based on functionality. Specifically, the sleeve cap is tucked in and the bottom of the sleeve is set higher to allow for more movement around the arms, and the yoke on the back is tucked in rather than gathered, allowing for more movement in the back. The silhouette is slightly looser than the standard SH-03 . The reinforcement stitching is done with fine machine stitching to reinforce areas that have actually become frayed over time.
