Short sleeve khadi shirt
The khadi used is hand-spun and hand-woven in West Bengal, India. Please refer to the link to the outer fabric spinning section and the blog of CALICO , the supplier, for details on hand-spinning. The unevenness created by hand-spinning and hand-weaving relatively short-fiber desi cotton gives it a texture like another skin, and is beautiful even when lit through. The occasional random borders are created by small changes in the yarn lot by hand, and are also one of the characteristics. The hand-woven khadi fabric is cut from the selvedge to the selvedge, and folded and sewn like origami, so there is almost no leftover fabric. The structure is very flat, and like a kimono, it naturally fits the body shape of many people. The fabric also becomes softer with wear, and since cotton thread is used for sewing, it can be worn comfortably even against bare skin. The selvedge of the fabric is used to convey the texture of the hand weaving, and thick white mother-of-pearl buttons are hand-sewn on the placket and hem.
*Because we use hand-woven fabric, there are individual differences in size and texture. Please consider the weaving habits, knots in the thread, and pilling as part of the expression. As it is weaker than machine-woven fabric, please avoid excessive strain. We are also available to answer any questions you may have about care.
*Dyed in dark colors. Please avoid mixing with light colors to avoid color transfer. To prevent color fading, use a dry-cleaning detergent and dry in the shade. Due to post-production processing, the color and size of each item may vary slightly.
