Scrap stole (plant dyed)
We use khadi made in West Bengal, India, where both the warp and weft are hand-spun and hand-woven. For more information on hand-spinning, please refer to the link to the outer fabric spinning section and the blog of our supplier, CALICO . The unevenness created by hand-spinning and hand-weaving relatively short-fiber desi cotton gives the fabric a texture like a second skin, and is beautiful even when illuminated by light.
We stocked several years' worth of scraps that were produced when cutting the above-mentioned Khadi products, cut them to fit the size of the scraps, and sewed them again into a shawl. Khadi yarn thickness and weaving density vary each time, and since various lots are gathered together in one piece, you can see the subtle differences in color shading for each part.
*Dyed with dyes extracted from plants and insects, there is a natural unevenness. As there is a possibility of color transfer, please refrain from using it with light-colored items at first, wash with a neutral detergent, and dry in the shade. Since it is product dyed, the color and size of each item may vary slightly.
*Because we use hand-woven fabric, there are individual differences in size and texture. Please consider the weaving habits, knots in the thread, and pilling as part of the expression. As it is weaker than machine-woven fabric, please avoid excessive strain. We are also available to answer any questions you may have about care.
