Remaining futon
The original fabric is made by weaving organic cotton waste into a twill weave pattern on a Schonherr loom using a weft made from yarn spun by a gara spinning machine and a warp made from silk spun from waste cocoons and other materials that cannot be used for silk thread. The knotty texture of the yarn made by gara spinning, combined with the softness of the slow weaving speed of the Schonherr loom, creates a texture that is almost like hand-woven fabric.
This product is made by reusing the leftover fabric from the above fabric. The leftover fabric is joined together by users of Kobo Rashinban in Toyonaka, Osaka. The fabric is freely joined by sewing machine without being bound by any pattern, so no two pieces are the same. The products are made entirely by hand using the joined fabric by the craftsmen of Takaokaya in Rakuchu, which was founded in 1919. The padding of the cushion is done by hand, resulting in a comfortable cushion that is uniform, does not tire you even when sitting for a long time, and provides firm support for the pelvis and spine. Among the many different types of cushions, this is a type called "Kyoto cushions." For more information, please click here .
