Khadi woven mat
The khadi used is a cotton fabric made mainly from relatively short-fiber desi cotton, with both the warp and weft hand-spun and hand-woven in West Bengal, India. The weft of this sashiori mat is made from hand-cut scraps from cutting other products using khadi fabric, and the warp is made from recycled cotton yarn. The process from cutting the fabric to hand-weaving is done by the users of the Osaka workshop "Rashinban". Specific requests regarding the design are kept to a minimum, and each one is a unique piece made with the free imagination of the users who enjoy working with their hands. Although this mat is highly versatile, the seams of the sashiori fabric are visible on the back, giving it a very different appearance from the front, making it reversible.
